ABOUT BREAKERS

Coastal Breakers is a sporting club for women in the Western Australian Gaelic Football League. Breakers joined the league in 2007 with a focus on creating a social and competitive sporting club. The club has attracted a vast array of sportswomen from baseballers to water polo players, all who have contributed to building the club. Breakers continue to grow in numbers, entering two teams into the competition in 2009.

The regular season runs from April to September, with a social summer comp running in February and March. For elite players, the GAAWA selects a state team to represent WA in the national competition each October. From the state championships an Australian side is selected, touring Ireland every three years.

With ranging playing abilities from beginners to state and Aus reps, Breakers have developed into a diverse, inclusive and vibrant sporting family.
